My cosmetology career started at the very young age of 16 years old. I gave up my summer that year to attend Richard's Beauty College "AKA" Salon Success Academy, because I was determined & couldn't wait to work in a professional salon. I graduated high school in 1995, went back to beauty school & interned at Carlton Hair International. I completed Richard's Beauty College in 1996 & became a licensed cosmetologist. I proceeded to get hired as a full time assistant at Carlton Hair Int. Employed at Carlton's I attended many classes to include motivational, product knowledge, weekly hair cutting, round brushing, & blow dry styling classes. After 4 months of assisting I had a soiree. During my career as a hair stylist at Carlton I attended an intense Classic Hair Cutting course at Vidal Sassoon Academy, & one year later I took an intense Advanced Hair Cutting Course at Vidal Sassoon Academy, & was Certified in both courses. After 3 years at Carlton, I was ready for a new adventure which included leaving Carlton a commission based Professional Hair Salon, & in 1999 I ventured into Andrew Nathaniel's a booth rental based Professional Hair Salon. Six years later as a self-employed trust worthy stylist the owner Lupe Perez offered me to be the salon manager, in which I graciously accepted. As a salon manager I was eager to learn & take on more challenges such as Andrew Nathaniel's Pro Salon Computer Operating System & product inventory. I futhered my education by becoming our Salon facialist & got certified by Epicuren Discovery & Dermalogica. Still striving to learn more, I received a certification in Extensions. In 2008 I left Andrew Nathaniel's & worked at Jade Aveda Concept Salon for a short time. As a stylist at Jade I became well educated in the Aveda hair coloring system, which was extremely challenging & different from any other hair color products I had ever worked with. It was amazing to work with & learn a new product & color line. After working at Jade a commission based salon for a very short time , I realized I was ready to return to booth rental at Andrew Nathaniel's Salon. My journey as a hair stylist the last 15 years has been amazing, but there was still 1 more goal I wanted to challenge myself to & I did. In 2010 I became a Board Certified Cosmetology Instructor, & can't wait to share my passion, knowledge & artistry with future cosmetology students. I feel fortunate to have received such an array of education & I enjoy bringing it to my clients. My pride lies on my expertise in Extensions, High lights, Up Styles Wedding group rates, Round Brushing, Hair Straightening System, Color, Women & Men Hair Cuts, Fades, Mohawks, Fo Hawks, Hair bling/tings, Feather Locks, Deep Conditioning Treatments, Clear Color Gloss, & Super Curly Textured Hair.
